Privacy Policy for Personal Vault

At Personal Vault, we prioritize the security and privacy of your sensitive data. This Privacy Policy describes how we handle information when you use our mobile application.

1. Information Collection and Use

Personal Vault is designed as a secure local storage solution. We collect minimal information necessary to provide the app’s services:


  • Local Data: All documents, notes, and savings plans are stored locally on your device. We do not have access to your personal files.

  • Google Account Information: If you choose to use the Google Drive Backup or Family Sharing features, the app accesses your Google email address and name to identify your vault and manage sharing permissions.

  • Media and Files: The app requires access to your camera and storage only if you choose to scan documents or upload existing files to your vault.

2. Google Drive Integration

The app uses the Google Drive API to provide cloud backup and family sharing functionality:


  • Backup: Encrypted database and file packages are uploaded to a private folder in your own Google Drive account.

  • Sharing: When you share a document with a family member, a secure package is uploaded to your Drive and shared specifically with the email address you provide.

  • Privacy: We do not store your Google Drive credentials. Authentication is handled entirely by Google Play Services.

3. Data Security

  • Local Encryption: We recommend using the built-in PIN or Biometric (Fingerprint/Face Unlock) features to secure access to the app on your physical device.

  • Encryption in Transit: All data synced with Google Drive is transmitted over secure, encrypted connections (HTTPS).

  • No Third-Party Analytics: We do not use third-party tracking or analytics SDKs that monitor your behavior or collect usage patterns.

4. Third-Party Services

The app utilizes the following third-party services which may collect information used to identify you:


  • Google Play Services (Authentication and Billing)

  • Google Drive API (Storage and Sync)

5. Data Retention and Deletion

  • User Control: You have full control over your data. You can delete individual documents or use the "Delete Safe" option in Settings to wipe all local and cloud-stored backup data.

  • Account Deletion: Since we do not maintain a central server, deleting the app and your Google Drive backup folder removes all traces of your data from our reach and the cloud.

6. Children’s Privacy

This app is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. You are advised to review this page periodically for any changes. Changes to this Privacy Policy are effective when they are posted on this page.
